BTEG announces MOU with the VCCI

Business & Tourism East Gippsland has signed off on a Memorandum of Understanding with the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which will have significant benefits for the chambers of commerce and the business and tourism associations in East Gippsland and for the business communities they serve.

Under the terms of the MOU, all businesses in East Gippsland who are paid-up members of their local chamber of commerce or business and tourism association will have the opportunity to join the Victorian Chamber at no cost to the individual member.

Executive Officer for Business & Tourism East Gippsland, Janet Burton, said that VCCI membership would be available to all chamber of commerce and business & tourism association members at the “Essentials” level, which provides a range of benefits, including access to VCCI’s business surveys, on-line manuals and a suite of business tools and templates; member pricing on a range of events, consulting services and courses; and access to other services. “The range of benefits is broad and VCCI membership should prove to be a significant advantage for local businesses,” Janet said. “This should also be a great tool that chambers and BTAs in East Gippsland can use as a recruiting mechanism.”

The MOU takes effect immediately and Business & Tourism East Gippsland will advise all chambers of commerce and business and tourism associations about how their members can sign up for VCCI membership.
